too hard to convert

I had no idea, (probably my fault) that this was all in metric, I am from the way back a long time ago
school, I am 75 yrs. old and they did not make us learn the metric tables, I find this book almost
useless to me, for those who know how to convert, it would be good, recipes look good , just cannot
use them my self, so it was money wasted, sorry.

I will still shop at Amazon, I love the ease and confidence I have built with Amazon, It is my favorite
place to shop, also love that almost always, there prices are lower than anywhere else.

I wanted a book that gave me recipes for completely cooking in the Nu Wave oven, not something that required frying, saut�ing, and otherwise preparing a meal that THEN goes into the NWO. Will try to return it.

Too many of the recipes are in kg or grams and rack is specified in cm. You need to be able to convert amounts. Book should have conversion chart. Very disappointing purchase.

Needs an editor

The book contains a lot of good technical information about RouterOS. The author bio would lead you to think it was written by an American author. It is obviously written by someone that has English as a second language. I don't think I have ever read a book that had as many grammatical errors. The publisher should pay a good editor to clean up the grammar.

Had the previous version of the book. Kindle version has no Table of Contents, index has no links to pages, so you have to guess the location you want to go to. For reference manuals, unless there is a usable index with links to pages, it's pretty much useless.

ANTHONY S. CAMPAGNA is Professor of Economics at the University of Vermont, where he specializes in macroeconomic theory and policy. He is the author of three previous books, including U.S. National Economic Policy, 1917-1985 (Praeger, 1987).

Campagna and the Economics of Vietnam War

I was asked to prepare a talk for California high school history teachers on some salient economic consequences of the US involvement in Vietnam. This book saved my life, because before reading it, all I knew about the war was what I could remember from experience. Campagna makes the point that keeping the true costs of the war secret from the American public and from the government's economic advisors resulted in mis-management of the macro economy, the mis-use (or non-use) of fiscal policy, and the eventual shift from liberal Keynesian economics to the period of post-war stagflation and conservative monetary policy a la Milton Friedman. He also shows that the first OPEC oil embargo can be traced, in part, the the inflationary consequences of our economic policies during and after the war.

The book is replete with tables, but lacking in charts and graphs. The author is thorough in providing sources and attribution. If you need to know more about the economy in the 1960s and 70s, this is the book to start with.

Off Balance is a novel with equilibrium

In Off Balance, Alice is a ballet dancer whose career is tragically cut short due to a terrible injury. Lana is a soloist newcomer to the fictional West Coast Ballet Theatre who earns herself a lead part her first season but few friends as a result. The two women are thrown together by their common connection to ballet and WCBT's director of development who takes a romantic interest in Lana. As Lana transitions away from her family and into life as a soloist dancer, Alice's experience serves her well as a friend and mentor.

Off Balance is actually the first ballet novel that I've read that was written by an actual ballet dancer. It makes such a difference to read about the ballet industry, rehearsals, body issues, and company politics from an author who has lived the life rather than an one who has simply done research. Terez has managed to communicate the essence of ballet life clearly in a way that even non-dancers can easily understand. And I think that most ballet dancers will be able to relate closely with Alice and Lana's struggles on and off the stage.

The book is also a page-turner. The characters are multi-dimensional with raw, gritty back stories. I really appreciated the dialogue which is natural and flows easily. (Stilted dialogue is a pet peeve of mine with novels.) Overall, the book exhibits a wonderful understanding of human nature and the construction of a gripping plot. I'm definitely curious to see what happens in the second book!

A Terrific Book about Dance, Family, and Friends

As a former dancer, I can say that the book rings true -- it threw me back to my dancing days and how it felt to be a part of this special art form. But "Off Balance" isn't just about dance. Although the book does take place in the rarified world of elite-level ballet, this is really a story about family, friends, and business relationships and how to navigate all of this while pursuing a goal. This book was well-written and professionally designed and copy edited -- a real pleasure to read, and I look forward to the other books in the series. (Note: I was given a copy of the book by the publisher for an unbiased review.)

This book had a promising premise... looking ...

This book had a promising premise...looking at the workings of a dance company from the perspectives of a new soloist and a former dancer turned administrator. However, the execution was off. The writing style is very wordy as another reviewer noted. Also, the world created in this book is coolly amoral as many of the characters either do hard drugs, exchange sexual favors to obtain funds for the company and prostitute themselves in order to advance professionally while all of these actions are portrayed matter of factly. I found this book a very dark and soulless read and ended up abandoning it about halfway through.

Phenomenal!

I'm stunned that this is a debut novel. It's so well written, populated with realistic characters and graced by a well-crafted, believable story arc.

The book is achingly plausible, and as such, it's not fun getting through Will's weakness or Julia's stubbornness. Unlike so many in the genre, though, this bleeds realism, not contrivance. Never fear, you don't have to suffer complete bleakness in the service of a well-written work; this one will not leave you depressed for weeks afterward.

I so enjoyed my time with these characters and eagerly await the author's next book.

Great first novel, can't wait for the second!!!

Normally I have some difficulty being captured by a book. This book grabbed me from the beginning and held me hostage until I finished. Love that it takes place in Rhode Island. Great character development, felt as if I really knew them and connected with their "Roller Coaster" ride through life.
Great read, highly recommended!!! You won't be disappointed!

Very enjoyable read

I originally bought the book due to part of the story being set in Rhode Island. I found that by the time the protagonist entered the story, I was hooked and finished the rest of the book with ins a few hours. I was very tired the next day, but intrigued and satisfied with the way the rest of the story unfolded. An interesting and realistic group of people and events. I am looking forward to a next book.
